Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday and we celebrated by taking him out to eat at Texas Roadhouse yesterday.

Hide & Seek (or fall asleep)

It's tradition (not exactly sure how this ever got started) in our house to play hide and seek whenever Alex hears the garage door open. So the other day when I came home from work, I found Alex in one of her hiding places. Apparently she thought she heard the garage door open a while before I actually got home so she went to hide and ended up falling asleep by the time I actually made it home! I couldn't help but take a few pictures.

Welcome to Kansas

The last few days have been so nice - so what does this crazy Kansas weather do??? Send a huge storm! A thunderstorm came through Kansas on my way home from work. Of course, after every storm, there's usually a beautiful rainbow. I took these pictures standing on my porch right after I made it home from work.

Warms my heart!

I often wonder if, as a mother, I am doing all that I can to raise my child to know and love the Lord. We say our prayers every night before we go to bed and we thank Jesus for our food before (most) of our meals. We go to church on Sundays and sometimes we sing praise & worship music at the top of our lungs in the car. The other day as I checked on Alex during her nap it warmed my heart to see that the effort that I'm making is paying off. My baby is learning to pray!

Bows!

Alex's new favorite thing is putting bows in her hair....all of them! She's just barely tall enough to reach the drawer that I keep her bows in and she just loves to open the drawer, pull out the bows and ask me to put them in her hair. A few weeks ago, her cousin, Abigail, came over and they had such a great time putting bows in their hair.
